The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

The Hunger Games is the first book of The Hunger Games Series, a trilogy by Suzanne Collins and was adapted into a feature length film in 2012.

Katniss Everdeen is only 16 years old, but to save her younger sister, volunteers to take her place in the annual Hunger Games where children fight until only one remains. Whilst The Hunger Games will be found in the young adult section of libraries and book stores, parents should be aware that in the book, children have to kill other children. The book contains a lot of violence and heartbreaking scenes. At its core, The Hunger Games is a political book that questions our moral compasses and obsession with reality TV.

The Hunger Games is a fast paced story with likeable inspirational characters. Set in the future
